Telugu Actress Sues TV Channel For Defamation

Hyderabad: Actress Kalyani Padala popularly known by her screen-name 'Karate' Kalyani has filed a defamation case against channel Shiva Shakthi Sai TV with the Central Crime Station police on Thursday.

She said, in her complaint to the police, that the channel owner Ramanananda Maharshi has purportedly ran defamatory content to malign her personal and professional life.

"I came across a YouTube link - Hindutvam Musugulo Naya Dandha, Karate Kalyani Part-1, Shiva Shakthi Sai TV. I watched the programme. The channel has made very objectionable comments on my personal and professional life. I have also seen the part-2 of the programme run by the TV channel owned by Ramanananda Maharshi. It has shown my personal life in the most objectionable manner," she mentioned and informed that she never gave an interview to them.

She accused Ramanananda Maharshi of having grudge against her as she criticized him on live TV for his objectionable comments on Ramayanam, Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman. The case is being investigated.
