Kishan Reddy Hits Back At KCR; Questions His Crop Regulation Concept

HYDERABAD: A day after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has called the Centre’s Rs 20 lakh crore economic stimulus package as ‘100 per cent bogus’, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy hit back strongly at the former for his caustic comments. While rebutting the criticism on Centre’s financial package, Kishan Reddy also took strong exception to KCR’s sharp rhetoric, saying that “the Telangana chief minister’s language and choice of words were objectionable”.

The Union MoS wondered how KCR could criticize the Centre at a time when the international media is appreciating the efforts of Prime Minister Modi to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Retaliating against the Telangana chief minister, Kishan Reddy retorted, "Is it necessary to resort to vote bank politics at this time of grave crisis?”

The BJP leader said that the Centre has announced the economic stimulus package of Rs 20 lakh crore with the objective of providing relief and succour to all the people of Telangana during these tough times.

He added that the Centre has also increased the FRBM limit from 3 to 5 per cent. Kishan Reddy challenged the Telangana Chief Minister to point out any drawbacks in the changes made to FRBM.

The Union minister of state sought to remind KCR that they have not questioned the State government's decision over regulation of crops. He said they refrained from it even after the state government has announced that no benefits would be given to farmers under Rythu Bandhu if they failed to follow the government guidelines on crop cultivation.

Looking to corner KCR on the issue of Rythu Bandhu, Kishan Reddy said that if what the Telangana government is doing is correct, then, the Central government is also correct in its initiatives to safeguard the collective interests of the country while protecting the people from the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic.
