Telangana Govt Sets Up Special Court For Speedy Trial In Vet Doctor Case

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has designated Court of I Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mahabubnagar as a special court for the speedy trial of the rape and murder of 'justice for Disha' case on Wednesday. The government has issued orders to this effect.

It is learnt that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao ordered officials to set up a fast track for the 27-year-old veterinary doctor’s murder case which has rocked the entire nation. The CM said that the case is heard on a fast track mode and the culprits are given stringent punishment like the trial in the rape and murder case of the nine-month-old baby in a record 57 days.

The gruesome act has led to nation-wide public outrage with protests continuing on the incident across the state.

The charred body of the woman, working as an assistant veterinarian at a state-run hospital was found under a culvert in Shadnagar near here on November 28 morning a day after she went missing.

The four men, all lorry workers, aged between 20 and 24, were arrested on November 29 for allegedly raping and killing the woman by smothering her and later burning her body. The four are under judicial custody and lodged in high-security cells in Cherlapally Central Prison here.
