HYDERABAD: After Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a meeting with the transport officials at Pragati Bhavan over the RTC trade unions decision's to call off the strike, RTC MD Sunil Sharma on Monday said that the agitating TSRTC staffers will not be taken back into their duty.

The nearly two-month-old strike by employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation over various demands was called off on Monday, TSRTC employees unions Joint Action Committee (JAC) leader Aswathama Reddy said. He said that the decision was taken to halt alleged attempts to 'privatise' the corporation.

In a press release, Sharma reacting to the call-off called it a 'mockery'. He said that the TSRTC workers had intentionally carried out the strike during festivals and caused inconvenience to the public. The state government or RTC management had not asked the employees to go on for 52-day strike which costs the RTC's exchequer.

Sharma has also threatened legal action will be taken against the TSRTC employees who would protest in front of the RTC bus depots from tomorrow and if the interim drivers were blocked.

CCTV cameras have been installed in front of all the bus depots and TSRTC management will review the situation, Sharma added.

Sharma reminded that the HC has advised workers to wait until the Labor Commissioner (LC) makes a decision. According to the LC decision, the management of RTC will take further action. Until then, all the workers have to cooperate with the management, said Sharma.
