Biodiversity Flyover Accident: Case Registered Against Driver Kalvakuntla Milan Rao

HYDERABAD: A case has been registered by the Hyderabad Police against Kalvakuntla Krishna Milan Rao, for causing the death of a woman while driving rashly. Milan, who was driving the car on the Biodiversity Junction Flyover, after he lost control and fell off the flyover and landed on the road while killing a woman on Saturday. Hyderabad Traffic police imposed Rs 1000 as fine for over speeding. It is reported that Milan was the founder of Empower Lab and AR Games located at Hitech City.

A woman was killed and four people injured after a car fell off the Biodiversity flyover on Saturday afternoon. The CCTV footage shows the car falling from the flyover, crashing into a tree and finally landing on a woman who was waiting at the auto stand, crushing her under the car. The flyover has been closed for three days and an enquiry has also been ordered to ascertain the reasons for the accident and structural safety of the flyover.

The deceased was identified as Satyaveni (40) who was living in Manikonda and was going in search of a new house in Kukkatpally on that fateful day. Satyaveni, who was waiting in the auto stand died on the spot, while the injured were taken to the CARE hospital and were undergoing treatment. Kalvakuntla Krishna Milan Rao, who was driving the car sustained severe injuries on his head and ear and his health condition is said to be critical and was in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A woman named Korba's (23) ribs were broken and Mudavath Baalu Naik, an auto driver's left foot was severely injured, while Satyaveni's daughter sustained minor injuries.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has announced 5 lakhs as exgratia to the family of the deceased.

Police said that the car was being driven at the speed of 104 Kmph and the person driving the car lost control at the curve and veered off the ramp before landing 18 metres below the road near the Nissan Showroom. The Traffic police advised motorists not to drive recklessly and maintain a speed of not more than 40 kmph while driving in the city limits.
