IT Officials Raid Producer Daggubati Suresh, Actors Venkatesh & Nani’s Residences
HYDERABAD: In a pre-dawn swoop on Wednesday, the Income Tax officials have raided the residence as well as the office of noted producer Daggubati Suresh. The IT officials in two separate groups have conducted the raids and first they went to Suresh Production’s office and also raided Ramanaidu Studios. It was learnt that IT officials have seized some important documents related to evasion of tax by the producer. The raids are continuing until the afternoon of Wednesday.
The houses of his brother D Venkatesh and actor Nani were also raided by the officials
From last couple of years, Daggubati Suresh became a distributor of small films than producing big ones. He owned several theaters in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.
It has to be recalled that IT department has conducted raids on offices of Mythri Movie Makers, producer Dil Raju and KL Narayana. The raids on the producers and others are creating ripples in Tollywood.
Last month, IT officials raided the office of Asian Cinemas- a popular film production and distribution company- and seized important documents. The IT department also raided the houses of Asian Cinemas owners Narayana Das and Sunil Narang. The Asian Cinemas got distribution rights for many big films and also running Asian Cinema Theaters.
