HYDERABAD: Jubilee Bus Station (JBS)–Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) Metro route stretch is all set to start from December . According to HMRL officials, civil works have been completed on the Jubilee Bus Station (JBS)–Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) 10-km Metro route.

Works pertaining to telecommunication, overhead cabling, electrical and signalling are almost complete in all the 10 stations in this route. Works on viaducts have been completed, while works on roofs at stations are being completed at a brisk pace ,an HMRL officials said.

The target is to complete the works by November-end, and have the stretch functional from December.

It may be recollected that after the launch of services on the Ameerpet—Hi-Tec City route, nearly 2.2 lakh passengers now use the Metro and of these, an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 commuters take the Ameerpet—Hi-Tec City route.

Since the JBS-MGBS stretch passes through one of the densely populated corridors, a similar footfall is expected, a senior HMRL official said. This will also facilitate easy commute for those who are travelling long distances as it connects two main bus stations in Hyderabad.

JBS, Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, RTC Crossroads, Chikkadpally, Narayanguda, Sultan Bazar and MGBS are the 10 stations on the route. (With inputs from TOI)
