Drunk Man Creates Ruckus on Hyderabad Metro

Hyderabad: A video of a drunk man in a Metro train went viral on social media. This incident happened on Sunday.

It is reported that the drunk man indulged in verbal abuse in the presence of women and danced to a folk song obscenely in a metro train bound from Secunderabad to Tarnaka.

This incident has put Hyderabad Metro Rail officials in a dilemma over public safety and raised serious concerns over public safety in Metro trains.

HMRL MD NVS Reddy said the drunk man stood firmly, took a video of himself and when some of the passengers in the train complained at the next stop, he got down and slipped away. HMRL would come out with a special application to complain public nuisance of any sort and address immediately and create WhatsApp for commuters to raise instant complaints, said Mr Reddy.

Further, he said, "In fact, I get a lot of requests and representations to be a bit liberal and allow passengers who have consumed limited amounts of alcohol to travel by metro as drunk driving is not allowed by police in Hyderabad city. The other day I got an NRI group calling on me with a similar request as the world over this is allowed as long as they do not create a nuisance.
