Hyderabad: The Telangana government is taking steps to reform the revenue department. As part of this, it has decided to relocate long-standing employees. The government hopes to bring about some change and eradicate the corruption in the Revenue Department with the transfers.

In this way, everyone from the computer operator to the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) level will be relocated. In the wake of all the allegations that the file was not moving forward in the revenue department without a bribe, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to refine the department.

Experts Committee headed by former Chief Secretary and Government Advisor Rajiv Sharma suggested that the policymakers should make changes to the group, while enhancing the new revenue law. In this backdrop, the Expert Committee is studying the new Revenue Act, employee merger and more. However, with the delay in the introduction of the new Revenue Act, the sector is preparing to bring about a change in the workforce.

It is reliably learned that the Chief Minister's Office has given orders that the transfers should be applied without any discrimination. The district administration has already transferred the computer operators, VRO, RI, Junior Assistant, Senior Assistant and Naib (Sub) Tehsildar of the Tehsildar offices in Rangareddy district. The government hopes that by implementing the same policy in other districts, the staff attached to their positions can be identified, thus reducing the corruption to some extent. However, as the government has the power to transfer Tehsildars, deputy collectors and special grade deputies, the Revenue Department is preparing a list of relocated officers. Since the introduction of the new revenue legislation is being delayed, the government plans to complete the employee transfer process in the meantime.

The CCLA office recently collected a database of long-standing employees. The data was reported to the Chief Minister's Office by the Revenue Department. However, the district administration has already transferred all the staff except Tehasildars in Rangareddy district.

The sector is also ready for the transfer of Tehsildars. In the wake of last year's assembly election code, the government has been forced to evict those who have been working in their own districts for three years. Tehsildars are circling the Secretariat to be sent to the old districts as the latest election process is over. Transfers of 466 Tehsildars are expected to be issued in three days. In the same order after the previous districts were allocated, the transfers are due to take place soon as the government plans to hold municipal elections next month.
