Hyderabad: Under the influence of alcohol, an auto-rickshaw driver was caught ferrying school children in his vehicle. The driver, identified as K Venkatesh was caught by the Hyderabad Traffic Police on Tuesday near Gulzar Houz during a special drive conducted at Himayatnagar.
Apart from overcrowding seven children in his vehicle, the driver was heavily drunk and was heading to a school in Himayatnagar. Noticing the driver's condition, the police conducted a breath analyzer test and the blood alcohol content (BAC) count result showed as 266 mg/100 ml, compared to the permissible alcohol limit of 30 mg/100 ml of blood, which is 30 micrograms/100 ml of blood. The police immediately seized the vehicle and made alternate arrangements for the children to be sent to school. The police registered a case against Venkatesh and he was produced before the local court.
