Bhoodan Pochampally: In a tragic incident, four members of a family died of electrocution. The incident took place at Mukthapur of Pochampally Mandal in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district on Friday night.

The deceased were identified as Chinnam Ramulu, Chinnam Gangamma, Chinnam Praveen and Chinnam Rangamma. The mishap occurred during the wedding festivities of Chinnam Praveen (23), who got married to a young woman from Ravanapalli village in the same Mandal on June 19th.

After attending a ceremony at the bride's place all the family members returned home amidst the heavy rainfall in Pochampally Mandal on Friday evening. As a part of the wedding arrangements, serial bulbs were fitted to the house. Shyamala Gangamma, the bridegroom's aunt came in contact with the wire for drying clothes and got electrocuted. This incident took place as the wire was tied to the same iron rod as the wire of focus light resulting in electrocution.

When Praveen's mother, Chindam Gangamma, came to her rescue, she was also electrocuted. Both Praveen and Ramulu, also were electrocuted in an attempt to save their family members. Later, Praveen's brother Bhaskar disconnected the fuse and rushed to a private hospital in Pochampally. After the doctors' examination, the victims were shifted to private hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment. However, the doctors at the hospital declared them brought dead. Bodies of the deceased were shifted to Government Area hospital in Bhongir for postmortem.
