Hyderabad: A newly-wed couple committed suicide at Banjara Hills on Saturday. The deceased couple has been identified as Burra Santosh (31) and Archana (28).

The couple got married four months ago in February and resided at a rented flat at Sriram Nagar colony in Banjara Hills, road no.13.

A native of Godavari Khani, Santosh befriended Archana, who hailed from Mahabubabad while working as a sales executive at Airtel retail outlet in Hyderabad. They fell in love and decided to get married. However, ever since they got married, the couple frequently indulged in arguments.

It is learned that they once again got into a heated argument on Saturday at their residence. Upset with their issues, both of them decided to end their lives.

The couple hanged themselves to the ceiling fan in their residence. As per the reports, the incident took place between 11 am and 12 noon and came to light when the apartment watchman noticed the bodies hanging in their residence. He immediately alerted the police.

A case was registered by the Banjara Hills police and their bodies were shifted to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for post-mortem. The police are investigating the exact reason for their suicide. Further investigation is underway.
