Hyderabad: The lone BJP MLA from Telangana Raja Singh who is repeatedly seen in the news for his controversial statements against the Muslim minority, had lashed out on Sub Inspector K Srinivasa Rao of Falaknuma police station for wearing a Muslim skullcap in the police station on Ramzan Eid day.

Sharing the video of the cop greeting people on the Ramzan Eid day, the Goshamahal BJP MLA questioned the Telangana DGP and Hyderabad city police officials whether removing the official Police cap and wearing the skull cap was legal inside a police cabin. He further tweeted that Hindu's were targeted on Diwali and Dusherra days and was friendly policing only meant for the minorities.

The video went viral with a mixed response from the Twitterati, though there was no official response from either the Telangana DGP or the Hyderabad City police's twitter handle. Interestingly the Falaknuma SHO had conducted Iftar parties and distributed Ramzan gifts to people within the police station jurisdiction which was appreciated by everyone.

The BJP MLA is known for spewing venom on the minorities and this is not his first outburst. Three days ago he accused the AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi of "funding" the terrorists while asserting that BJP would win the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency in 2024 . This statement had come right after Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy sparked a controversy by saying, "wherever in the county, a terrorist attack happens, its roots are found in Hyderabad." He also called Hyderabad a terror safe zone.
