Telangana Intel Officer Arrested For Sexually Harassing Meerpet Municipality Commissioner   

Hyderabad: Meerpet police arrested a superintendent of Telangana Intelligence wing on Friday for sexually harassing the Commissioner of Meerpet Municipality N Vasantha.

Anwar Hussain who disguised himself as an Anti-Corruption Bureau officer threatened Vasantha saying if she did not comply to his demands, he would fix her up in a corruption case.

According to a leading daily, Hussain is a resident of Badangpet. He came in touch with Vasantha during an official work and since then continued harassing her calling her at odd hours.

Meerpet inspector Yadaiah told a leading daily that the the harassment continued for a few months and since the last 20 days, Hussain has been repeatedly calling and texting her demanding sexual favours.

He further threatened to carry out ACB raids at her office and fix her in a corruption case.

Vasantha registered her complained on Tuesday. The accused Hussain has been booked under IPC Section 354D for stalking.

Hussain was later produced before the court and sent to judicial custody on Friday.
