Nalgonda: A bus driver's alleged negligence cost the lives of a woman and her one-and-half year old son in Nalgonda district on Saturday morning. The incident took place on Narketpally – Addanki road at Cherlapally village when the mother-son duo were run over by the bus, which crossed over the road divider after crashing into another car.

The woman and her infant succumbed to death on the spot. Passengers in the car were also injured while two others sustained severe injuries in the incident. The injured were rushed to the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Renuka, who was travelling with her husband on a two-wheeler along with their son and daughter.

The family were heading from Narketpally to Nalgonda. As per the details, the bus is learned to be owned by Kaveri Travels and was heading in the opposite direction but rammed into a car. The impact of the collision resulted in the bus crossing over the road divider and mowing down the two-wheeler. The police who reached the spot have shifted the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered in this regard and the police are investigating.
