Nalgonda: In a hit-and-run accident, two people lost their lives after a DCM van ran over a two-wheeler in the district on Friday morning. The victims were identified as Chintha Narasimha(45) and Devarakonda Srinivas Rao(44), who resided in Cherlapally village. The duo was employed at Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS).
The incident took place at 9 am on Narketpally-Addanki road near Cherlapally village in Nalgonda. As per the details, the DCM van hit the two-wheeler and sped away from the spot.
The victims were on their way to work as they were heading towards Narketpally when the mishap occurred. The duo's vehicle was hit by the DCM coming from the opposite direction, when they were crossing the road at a divider, resulting in the accident.
The police, who were alerted by the locals, rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to District Government Hospital at Nalgonda for post-mortem.
The police are examining the CCTV footage to identify the DCM vehicle involved in the accident. A case has been registered by the police and further investigation is on.
