Hyderabad: The protests over the Inter Results are escalating every day in the state and the Opposition parties have intensified their agitation on Monday. Gathered at the Inter Board office, all the parties called upon the Inter Board's failure and the state government's negligent attitude on the issue.

Police have already been stationed at the office premises to control any untoward incidents. In the backdrop of the all-party dharna at the Inter-board office, the Congress, CPI, and Telangana Jana Samithi Party leaders were detained by the police in advance.

The leaders heading to participate in the Dharna were arrested at several points. In Hyderabad, TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, party leader Anjan Kumar Yadav, and TJS chief Kodandaram were put on house arrest by the police.

Uttam Kumar, Kodandaram and Chada Venkat Reddy condemned the police action of arresting their party leaders.

On the other hand, police also placed former MLA J Ranga Reddy on house arrest in Miyalalaguda of Nalgonda district. The CPM called for a Dharna in Hyderabad as a protest against the students' suicides owing to the irregularities of the Intermediate Board. In this connection, the police arrived at MLA J Ranga Reddy's house at 4 am on Monday and put him under house arrest.

TPCC Executive President Ponnam Prabhakar criticized the police arresting the party leaders who are staging a dharna at the Inter Board office. Stating that the arrests won't stop the movement, he demanded the police to provide justice to the students instead of arresting leaders. Ponnam Prabhakar further demanded the immediate release of the arrested leaders.

Meanwhile, BJP Telangana President Dr K Laxman launched an indefinite hunger strike on Monday morning at the BJP state office as a protest against the state government in regard to the Inter Results fiasco.
