Hyderabad: The famous Tirupati Balaji Temple will now have another address. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) which manages the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala are establishing a new temple on the similar lines as the holy shrine atop the Seven Hills in Tirumala in Hyderabad.

As per the details, the idol of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy will be similar to the idol at Tirumala and be made with black granite stone with a towering height of 8.6 ft and the temple is to be situated on a small hilltop on Road No 92 in Jubilee Hills.

After Himayatnagar, this will be the second TTD temple in Hyderabad. For the construction of the main temple, Maha Ganapathi temple and Maha Rajagopuram on the temple premises, the TTD spent of Rs 28 crore. Plans are also set for the construction of ‘Srivari Pushkarini’ similar to the celestial bathing spot in Tirumala. The works for the temple began on a 3.5 acre government land on August 10, 2016 with the then TTD Chairman C Krishnamurthy laying the foundation stone. The premise where the main deity would be placed was lifted to a height of 45 ft from the ground for the devotees to have a complete glance of Lord Balaji.

Inside the temple, a modern kitchen has been built for the preparations of 'prasadam' and a counter will be responsible for the distribution of ‘Srivari laddu,’ (priced at Rs 50) directly from Tirumala.

The works progressing at a brisk pace are set to be completed by March 12 and the temple will be declared open from March 13.
