Hyderabad: With suspicion of her husband’s fidelity, a 30-year-old woman from Laxmi Nagar in Miyapur poisoned her twin children and later consumed it herself. The daughter died while undergoing treatment and the son is still undergoing treatment.

Suresh and Suma, 30, natives of Chandabavi village, Tumkur district of Karnataka, came to the city about two years ago.

On Wednesday evening at about 6 pm, when Suresh had come back home, he walked into his wife and children lying unconscious on the floor of his house. He called for an ambulance and rushed them to a nearby hospital where Harshita, his daughter died while undergoing treatment.

“The couple developed differences after Suma suspected Suresh’s fidelity. This led to arguments between them regularly. She consumed some unidentified poison after administering the same to her children,” said Miyapur sub-inspector Ram Reddy.

Harsha, the son, is undergoing treatment at Ankur Hospital and Suma is being treated at Srikara Hospital. Both are Stable right now and the police are waiting to record Suma’s statement after she recuperates.

Harshita’s body was handed over to the family after a post mortem at Gandhi Hospital.

According to the police, Suma’s parents do not suspect their son-in-law and are sure that Suresh loves their daughter very much.

A case has been registered against Suma under Section 302 of IPC and further investigation is underway, said SI Reddy.
