Warangal: A hotel in Telangana has come with a unique policy for the ones who indulge in wasting food.

An eating joint, the Kedhari Food Court in Warangal has initiated a 'no food waste' policy and the people who leave their plates with half-eaten food are penalized.

The hotel's promoter Lingala Kedari is advocating this policy by imposing the fine for the past two years. The eating joint, which is popular for the quality of food served, has display boards cautioning customers against leaving behind food and if they do so, a fine of Rs 50 has to be paid.

So far, the promoter has collected Rs. 14,000 in terms of fine and intends to donate it to an orphanage.

However, Mr Kedari clarifies that the instances of penalty has decreased in recent times and added that his business increased after the new measures were implemented.
