Telangana leader and Nizamabad MP K kavitha sharply criticised Sonia Gandhi's speech at Telangana election meeting in Medchal yesterday. “Sonia did not speak about the rights of Telangana, which is outrageous. Telangana Rashtra Samithi is the only party which works for the self respect of the Telangana people," she added, talking to the media here in Jagtial.

Sonia is talking about special status to AP in Telangana, this is nothing but an insult to the people of Telangana. Her words seem more like Chandrababu’s, she added. Sonia is trying to get their agenda of Andhra Pradesh into the state of Telangana, Taking dual stands is what Congress does, in Delhi they claim one thing and speak quite the opposite in Telangana. But TRS is any day for the rights of Telangana.

With Sonia Gandhi’s speech it is evident the direction in which the alliance is heading. While the TRS MPs protested for Telangana rights in the Lok Sabha, Sonia kept mum sitting in the front row. Why should people vote for them, who keeps silent when states issues are put forward? Telangana is never a priority for Congress, she said.

She pleaded with the people to make the public meeting of KCR on November 26 a grand success. Jagtial was made into a district without anyone’s prerogative. MLA Jeevan Reddy does nothing but criticize CM KCR, she added.

Later, the daughter of KCR said, I worked for the development of Jagtial in the role of an MP. We made development possible in Jagtial, even when the opposition objected.
