The Congress retained Kodada and disappointed Mallaiah Yadav decided to contest as a rebel. The TRS then convinced Mallaiah Yadav to join the party, and nominated him for the Kodada seat in the last minute.By adding Mallesh Yadav to the list, TRS has totally nominated 26 BC leaders in the upcoming elections.
In a counter move, Congress surprised everyone by nominating BC leaders R. Krishnaiah and Kasani Gyaneshwar in its final list to pacify the Backward Communities

In 2014, Mr Krishnaiah had won from the LB Nagar Assembly constituency on a TDP ticket. Way back then party president N.
