The Telangana police is said to be offering upto Rs 5 lakh in cash as a reward for critical information about the maoist whereabouts.

Adilabad/ Karimnagar: The Telangana Police have come up with a new catch phrase ‘Samacharam Maku… Bahumathi Meeku’ (Give us information about Maoists and get your reward) to get tip offs on destructive forces on the prowl, targeting political leaders in the state.

The Telangana police is said to be offering upto Rs 5 lakh in cash as a reward for critical information about the maoist whereabouts.

The Police have also released posters to circulate the information, they have also appealed to the public at large to disclose information about Naxalites, in guise of  common man.

The police posters released had photographs of action team members of CPM and got them pasted on to the walls in the remote localities of Old Adilabad and Karimnagar districts, where their presence is more dominant.

The police received information that some of the action team have infiltrated into the districts. Police officials suspect that action team members may attack on the political leaders and  candidates contesting in the upcoming elections to make their presence felt. Police also suspect that few of the Maoist action team members had sneaked into the forests of north Telangana districts from bordering Chhattisgarh. Police has already alerted the political leaders and contesting candidates.

The phone numbers of police personnel working under the Ramagundam police commissionerate have also been given on the posters. The same posters were also seen in the Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district. The poster consists of 12 photographs of action team members. The police assured that informers identity will not be revealed.

Few members of the action team include Kankanala Raji Reddy of Kalva Srirampur mandal in Karimnagar district, Milaralu Adellu Bhaskar of Boath mandal in Adilabad district while some of them are from Chhattisgarh.

On the other hand the Election Commission has issued a notification regarding campaign timings in 13 Maoist-affected Assembly constituencies in the Adilabad and Karimnagar districts.

Timings: The Commission has specified that campaign and polling times are only from 7 AM to 4 PM in the sensitive areas, whereas the timing for the campaign and polling in other areas is from 7 am to 5 pm.

Logistics of deploying police personnel and bad road connectivity to these interior areas has resulted in imposing these timing restrictions during campaign and polls days.
