Hyderabad: The police interrogation in the sensational miryalaguda honour case that involved the brutal murder of Dalit youth Pranay Perumalla has brought out some very interesting facts from primary accused in the case, Maruthi Rao, father of Pranay's newly-wed wife Amrutha. On Friday, Pranay was stabbed to death near Jyoti Hospital in Miryalaguda by a contract killer who was hired by Maruthi Rao. Enraged over the Dalit youth's marriage to his daughter, Maruthi Rao, who hails from an upper caste, ordered the brutal murder of Pranay by handing a contract killing to a noted gangster. The polce have arrested two contract killers along with Maruthi Rao and his brother Shravan on Saturday at Kothapet in the city here.

During the interrogation, Maruthi Rao confessed to having regrets over Pranay's murder. I have ordered for the murder with love for my daughter, he said. "I believed that reputation in the society is more important than my daughter's future. I was aware of the relationship between Pranay and Amrutha since they were in 9th standard. I had warned Pranay to stay away from my daughter on several occasions. I was prepared to go to jail and offered a supari of Rs 10 lakh," he confessed.

According to Maruthi Rao, the contract killers had been carrying out a recce since two months. He also said he cautioned the gangsters to cause no harm to Amrutha.
In a shocking confession, Maruthi Rao said he had requested one Dr Jyoti to carry out an abortion on Amrutha's baby. It is learnt that he had offered huge money for carrying out the abortion. The police during the investigation found traced the contract killers to neighboring Hyderabad.
