Miryalaguda: Ajay, the younger brother of murdered Dalit youth Pranay, today said after paying last respects to Pranay's body, that if Maruthi Rao comes out of jail, the public would kill him right away. An extremely saddened Ajay returned from Ukraine after learning about his brother's death. "Our family would do no harm to Maruthi Rao. It will be the public who would kill him to death if he gets released from jail," he cried.

Recalling his previous visit to India, his father said that Ajay visited Pranay and Amrutha at their home and that Amrutha tied a rakhi during Raksha Bandhan.

Pranay's funeral is expected to be carried out any time soon, while scores of civil society activists, leaders of various social communities and Pranay's friends reach the location. The police have taken all security measures to prevent any untoward action here.

Amrutha's father Maruthi Rao, it is learnt has ordered for the killing of Pranay by offering Rs 1 crore to a Nalgonda-based rowdy sheeter named Mohammed Bari. As part of the contract, Rs 50 lakh had been already given to Bari.

According to sources, Maruthi Rao had been kidnapped once by Bari in one instance. With that association, Maruthi Rao got to know Bari and plotted Pranay’s contract killing. Currently residing in the old city area of Hyderabad, Bari is believed to have planned the murder with the help of his associates. Although no official word has been given by he police yet, reports suggest that it was Bari's associate Shafi who has carried out the murder.

Also, a Congress leader is believed to have provided shelter to the absconding culprits.
