Traffic Curbs In Hyderabad For Khairatabad Ganesh

The Hyderabad police has come up with a plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city in view of rush of people to get a glimpse of Khairatabad ganesh which is one of the biggest in the city. The khairatabad ganesh is about 57 inches this year.  The idol weighs about 45 tonnes. The beautiful idol of Lord Ganesh is a result of the hardwork put in by some 150 artists who toiled round the clock since May. Workers from across the country like Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai worked on this idol which is about 24 feet wide. The traffic police has placed curbs in the city for eleven days of ganesh festivities beginning September 13 to September 23. The restrictions and divertions will start from 3pm.

Here's a look...

Vehicles from Mint compound lane and Necklace rotary would not be allowed to enter the route towards Khairatabad Library and Ganesh Idol. The vehicles will be diverted from government printing press, Khairtabad.

Vehicles from Rajiv Gandhi statue cannot enter Khairatabad library. They will have to take a diversion towards Nirankari bhavan at Rajiv Gandhi statue.

Traffic from Rajdoot hotel Lane, Khairatabad market by lane can't enter Khairatabad library beyond MCH sanitary ward office No 6. The vehicles will have to proceed towards printing press and market route.

Denizens will have to take alternate routes to reach their destinations to avoid traffic congestion in the city for these many days.

Security Arrangements For Khairatabad Ganesh

About 7 lakh devotees are expected to throng the ganesh pandal in Khairatabad. There willl be three separate queues—one for general public, one for VVIPs and another for VIPs. Extensive security arrangements have been made besides the fact that security will be tightened during the weekend.

A CCTV Surveillance has been put up at the venue which would monitor the influx of devotees 24/7 on all these eleven days.  One DSP, two Inspectors and eight sub-inspectors with four platoons of armed reserve force, two women platoons have been deployed at the venue, according to Central Zone DCP P Viswa Prasad.
