Telangana Tops List Of States With Highest Growth Rate

In a latest data released by the Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG), Telangana stands first in the average growth rate of state own tax revenue. According to CAG's official website, the state has achieved an average growth rate of 17.2% during the preceding 4 financial years.

The growth rate of Telangana State during the 2015-16 financial year was 13.7%, in 2016-17, it stood at 21.1% and in 2017-18 it was 16.8%.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao credited the state's financial policies and fiscal discipline for the success. In a latest tweet by the official Twitter handle of the Telangana CMO, CM KCR was quoted as saying, "Progressive financial policies, fiscal discipline, the commitment of the people in paying taxes to the government, resulted in the Telangana state achieving the highest average growth rate."
