22 Oct, 2017 15:43 IST|Sakshi
The notification comes after a long wait giving huge relief to lakhs of job seekers in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Saturday released the Teachers Recruitment Test (TRT) notification for filling up 8,792 posts. The TRT replaces the previous District Selection Committee (DSC) and is conducted by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).

Applications will be received by the TSPSC from October 30 to November 30, 2017. Educational qualifications for various posts and other details can be checked on www.tspsc.gove.in .

The change was made to recruit teachers without any issue of nativity as confusion still prevails over the new districts that have been formed last year. Thousands and even lakhs of unemployed youth had been awaiting the teacher recruitment notification ever since the Telangana state was formed.

The syllabus for TRT is also prepared. Of the total number of posts, 5,415 are Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT), 1,941 School Assistants, 1,011 Language Pandits, 416 Physical Education Teachers (PET) and the remaining posts belong to Urdu medium in government and local body schools like Zila Praja Parishad and Mandal Praja Parishad schools of Telangana.

Sangareddy district will have the largest chunk with 903 posts while only 22 posts are sanctioned for Warangal (Urban).

Candidates Apprehensive Of TSPSC Capabilities To Hold Teacher Recruitment Test

The Telangana Government on Saturday issued a Government Order (GO) to facilitate direct recruitment for the posts of teachers. The Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) this time will be conducted by the TSPSC.

There is a likelihood that the number of posts will go up as currently there are no vacancies from the newly-formed districts. However, given the TSPSC's notorious reputation of messing up competitive examinations of late, the job seekers are apprehensive about the fairplay in conducting TRT.

As per the ‘TS Direct Recruitment for the Posts of Teachers Rules, 2017’ which were reiterated by the latest GO (MS No 25), only the TET scores obtained before the appointed day of June 2, 2014 shall be considered. Selection shall be on the basis of combined marks secured in the main examination to be conducted by the TSPSC (80 percent) and TET (20 percent) in all categories except for physical education teaching posts (senior assistant) and PETs for which selection shall be 100 percent based on main exam by TSPSC.
