Hyderabad: BJP criticised a case which was filed against a veterinary doctor after the death of a dog at Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao residence, Pragati Bhavan. They criticised it saying that such a quick action against the vet was a cruel joke on the families of dengue victims across the state.

“It's a cruel joke on the families of the people who died of dengue in Telangana due to the criminal negligence of the TRS government,” BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao said to the daily. “If CM had even half of the love towards people he had for his dog, so many poor children wouldn’t be dying of dengue,” he added.

Around 3,000 fresh cases of dengue have been reported in the last couple of weeks and there have been deaths too but the government is denial.

“If KCR and his minister Etala Rajender had been serious about the prevailing dengue cases in the state, life of many children and elders could have been saved by taking necessary steps. Ignoring deaths due to dengue and other fevers is a bad move. People of Telangana are taking note of it and will teach the TRS a lesson in the next elections,” BJP leader T.R. Srinivas said to the daily.

It may be recollected that the Hyderabad police have booked a veterinary doctor for negligence that led to the death of a pet dog belonging to Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao.  A case under section 429 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 11 (4) of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was booked against Doctor Ranjit and the in-charge of a private veterinary clinic at Banjara Hills Police Station, police said on Saturday. The 11-month-old dog, named 'Haski', died allegedly after the veterinarian administered an injection on September 11.
