Raja Singh Claims Police Violence, Video Of Self-Inflicted Injury Viral

Hyderabad: BJP MLA from Goshamahal in the Telangana Assembly, Raja Singh on Tuesday went onto accuse the Hyderabad Police of thrashing him while he was trying to replace a statue of a freedom fighter in the city. Along with his supporters, Raja Singh attempted to replace the old statue of Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi in Jumerat Bazaar of the Old City with a new one.

Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi is the first freedom fighter from Hyderabad to have participated in the 1857 revolution against the British. However, their attempts were stopped by the police which resulted in an altercation as the BJP leader and his followers insisted on installing the new statue. Raja Singh sustained injuries on his head and is undergoing treatment at the Osmania Hospital.

The BJP MLA, later took to Twitter claiming that he suffered head injuries in the police lathi charge and questioned the police the reason for targetting him repeatedly.

On the other hand, the police refuted the allegations made by Raja Singh further adding that the MLA, himself assaulted the police officials and injured himself on the head with a stone.

A video has surfaced on social media on Thursday morning proving the story of the Hyderabad Police as the truth as the BJP MLA can be seen trying to inflict injuries on his head with a stone while the policemen stopped him.
