Kishanganj (Bihar): Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday hit out at union minister Maneka Gandhi for her remarks on Muslims threatening them of not getting them jobs if they did not vote for her and the BJP.

He asserted at an election rally here that the 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' slogan of the BJP is farcical.

"Maneka Gandhi scolds and threatens Muslims that if they do not vote for her then they will not get jobs... Prime Minister's slogan 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' is a lie," the Hyderabad MP, who is seeking re-election from the constituency said.

Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi at an election rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur said that things will turn 'sour' if the BJP is not voted to power by the Muslims.

She is a BJP candidate from the Sultanpur constituency.

“I am winning... But if my victory is without support from Muslims, I won’t feel that good. Dil khatta ho jayega (heart will become sour). Then when a Muslim comes to me for work, I think let it be, how does it matter?” Gandhi said.

“It is all give and take, a negotiation, isn’t it? We are not all children of Mahatma Gandhi, are we?” she added.

Owaisi also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and took a jibe at the pairing of Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi. He said that the love between the duo is stronger than Laila-Majnu.

"The love between Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and PM Modi is very strong. It is stronger than Love of Liala-Manju," he said.

He further said the love story will be chronicled as it won't be a love story but story that brought hate between two communities. He asserted that when the duo joined hands tensions in the region have accelerated.

Owaisi also targeted the Congress and accused the party of appeasing the Muslim community for votes, and said that the Bhagalpur riots and the Babri Masjid were unlocked during the Congress' time.

“You must not forget this party was in power in Bihar as well as at the Centre when the Bhagalpur riots took place and when the premises of the Babri Masjid were unlocked," he said.
