Revanth Reddy Picks Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Seat

New Delhi: Congress party releases the first list of Lok Sabha candidates for Telangana, on Friday. AICC has released a list with 8 candidates for the upcoming elections on Friday. The AICC election committee held a meeting with Congress party president Rahul Gandhi along with Sonia Gandhi before the announcement of the list.

The committee has confirmed tickets to 8 Lok Sabha constituencies. Talking to the media after meeting the Telangana state in charge RC Khuntia said that in-depth meetings were held before considering the candidates. The final list with nine candidates is to be released on Saturday. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president A Revanth Reddy is all set to contest from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency.

Also present at the election committee meeting were AK Antony, Veerappa Moily, Ahmed Patel. Telangana in charge secretaries Bosu Raju, Saleem Ahmed, Srinivasan Krishnan, PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and leader of Opposition Telangana Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Revanth Reddy met senior Congress Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday. It is learned that he expressed his wish to contest from Malkajgiri and made some suggestions regarding the selection of candidates.

He opined the few leaders, who had joined Congress along with had been bestowed with injustice during the allocation of Assembly tickets.

Revanth Reddy recommended Patel Ramesh Reddy from Nalgonda. Meanwhile, five candidates announced by Congress have contested in the Assembly election and lost it. Ponnam Prabhakar (Karimnagar), Revanth Reddy (Kodangal), Ramesh Rathod (Khanapur), Bala Ram Nayak (Mahabubabad), Chandrashekar (Vikarabad).
