Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao responds to the criticism that no women have been given a chance to be a part of his cabinet on Saturday in the Assembly session.

On Tuesday, KCR had inducted 10 people to be into the cabinet. But this time around again, there are no women given a chance. Congress MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy raised a question in the House asking if at least one women will be given the position in his cabinet. Responding to the question KCR answered that not one, but two women will be offered a role in his cabinet. He said that as a majority of women across Telangana voted for the TRS, thus securing a landslide victory in the recently held Assembly elections. However, in his first term, no woman was inducted in the cabinet and TRS also kept silent whenever the issue was raised.

Talking over presence of women in the political arena Nizamabad MP K Kavitha daughter of TRS supremo KCR said to a local daily, "I would never shy away and today I again reiterate that no party -- it could be TRS, it could be Congress, it could be BJP, whichever party, it will not give equal space to women unless and until it is mandated by the Election Commission of India or Parliament,”
