KCR Mulls Training Sarpanches To Strengthen Panchayats

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning a training program for all the sarpanches and upa sarpanches, who were elected in the recently held elections.

The grassroots people’s representatives will be imparted with the knowledge about the Panchayat Raj Act and how to develop the village on various fronts. These include increasing awareness on greenery in the rural areas and improving the sanitation conditions.

As a part of these training programs, KCR is conducting a meeting with all the master trainers on Wednesday at Pragathi Bhavan. It is learned that in the master trainers meeting, all the officers will be entrusted with knowledge about the Panchayat Raj law and the role of sarpanches in the development of the villages. These master trainers, in turn, will train the sarpanches, upa sarpanches and local officials.

The Chief Minister’s Office has called for a meeting of almost 200 officers from the district and mandal levels along with senior officials of the Panchayat Raj department.
