Telangana Cabinet Ministers To Receive Special Training

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a review meeting of finance department officials ahead of the 15th finance commission meeting.

KCR added that once the Cabinet expansion is completed, all ministers and secretaries will attend an orientation-cum-training programme at the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad. This program is with regard to their roles, powers, and responsibilities.

The programme is intended to familiarise the ministers with the business rules of government and budget-making procedures, among others. They will also be briefed on the state and national economy functioning added, CM KCR.

Addressing the review meeting on preparations for the visit of the 15th Finance Commission. KCR ordered the finance department officials to prepare a comprehensive memorandum for fulfilling the state’s requirements.

The Telangana chief minister added that the Finance Commission should leverage the economy, and its role and functioning should be changed. KCR added that there was no qualitative change over the decades and it is about time for one.

The Telangana chief minister said that demanding allocation of funds was the right of the states, there is diversity with regards to the states’ requirements,” KCR said.

TRS chief said, “The broad fiscal policy rests with the Union Government of India. Whatever was supposed to devolve, has been centralized. I have pointed out to Niti Ayog in one of the meetings that the Union should not come as a roadblock in the way of emerging states. The growth of the states should be considered as the growth of the country.” He even added, that both BJP and Congress have disappointed the people of this country.
