12 Judges Take Oath Under Telangana Chief Justice Radhakrishnan

Hyderabad: Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the first Chief justice of Telangana High Court on Tuesday morning.

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan administered the oath to him at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan which was attended by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, judges, lawyers and senior legal officials .

Justice Radhakrishnan had been serving as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for both the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh since July last year. After his swearing in was over, Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan administered oath to 12 Judges.

Justice TBN Radhakrishnan Bio: Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan. He was the son of late N. Bhaskaran Nair and late K. Parukutty Amma, both sdvocates, who practised at Kollam. Born on 29th April, 1959, he had his early schooling in St. Joseph's Convent and Government Boys' High School, Kollam; Arya Central School, Thiruvananthapuram. After obtaining a B.Sc. Degree in Zoology from University of Kerala as a student of the Fatima Matha National College, Kollam, he secured LL.B. Degree from Bangalore University having studied Law in K.G.F. Law College, Kolar Gold Fields. Enrolled on 11th December, 1983, he practised at Thiruvananthapuram as junior and thereafter shifted to High Court of Kerala in 1988 .

He dealt with cases in different branches of law before his elevation as High Court Judge . He was the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Kerala from 2016 to 2017 till he was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court in 2017. He was later sworn in as Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in 2018 and is now the first Chief Justice of Telangana State post the bifurcation of the High Courts.
