Adilabad Tribals Boost Voting Percentage In Telangana Polls

Adilabad: Telangana elections saw a never seen poll percentage of 73.20% voting registered. The turnout has been really good in the Adivasi populated areas when compared to the urban areas and this is evident with the polling percentage recorded in these constituencies.

The polling percentage reached 92 percent in few polling booths located in the agency areas of Neredigonda mandal in Boath Assembly constituency.

The average polling percentage of 80-85 was recorded in most of the polling booths in the agency areas in Adilabad district, in Thalamadugu and Bheempur mandals in Boath constituency.

Adilabad constituency registered 81.64 percent of voting while Boath in Adilabad district recorded 85.29 percent.

The polling percentage was highest in the tribal areas when compared to plain and urban areas in the Adilabad district which registered a total of 83.37 percent voting percentage.

Khanapur which is reserved for ST community recorded 78.42 polling percentage.

Some of the tribals voted out of fear of having their names deleted from the Electoral list and proclaimed dead which makes them come out to vote for every election  season.

Meanwhile many voters have complained that their names went missing from the rolls. The gravity of the situation such that Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar had to publicly issue an apology to the voters, whose names were not be found in the list.
