The Amberpet assembly constituency in the undivided Hyderabad district has been represented by senior leader of the BJP G. Kishan Reddy

The Amberpet assembly constituency in the undivided Hyderabad district has been represented by senior leader of the BJP G. Kishan Reddy, ever since its inception in 2009. He is seeking re-election from the constituency for the third time, after winning the 2009 polls with a majority of 27,243 votes and in 2014 with 62, 598 votes.

The Congress fielded OU student leader Nijana Ramesh while the TRS sees a ray of hope in K Venkatesh opposite Kishan Reddy. TRS leader Sudhakar Reddy stood a distant second to Kishan Reddy in 2014 with just 18,832 votes to his name. Analysts say Amberpet constituency, with a 241,524 strong electorate, is one such constituency across Telangana in which there is no choice for the voters but to elect the incumbent MLA.

The Nampally assembly constituency in the undivided Hyderabad district was represented by MIM's Jaffer Hussain Meraj, who secured 63,652 votes in the previous election. This time around, the Congress hopes for a win in the constituency by fielding Feroz Khan, who stood second as a TDP candidate in 2014 and as a PRP candidate in 2009.

Former minister Danam Nagender, who is now with the TRS as its Khairatabad candidate, won on three consecutive occasions from the constituency with 303,467 voters. Although the TRS's Munukuntla Anand Goud and BJP's Devara Karunakar are in the fray in Nampally, the fight would be between the Congress and the MIM, analysts predict.
