WARANGAL: Telangana Jana Samithi chief Prof. M. Kodandaram criticised the TRS government and said Adivasis have lost thousands of acres of land. The government was doing this under the pretext of preserving trees. The same government has cut down many number of trees in the name of development projects, he said on Thursday.

Kondadaram was addressing a public gathering at Bhupalapalli campaigning in support of Mahakutami candidate Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy from the Congress party. He added the tribals faced many problems during the TRS term. Podu farmers were deprived of their right to land. The forest officials drove them away from their lands, quoting the reason of updating the land records, several adivasis were asked to vacate their lands, he said.

Criticizing caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for not addressing the concerns of tenant farmers. TJS chief said KCR was acting as though tenant farmers were no farmers. “Is someone not a businessman if he runs a company on rented land? Will someone not be called an educationist if they run a school in a rented building,” he asked.

He pointed out that KCR had failed to respond to the issues of the Singareni Collieries workers . “Now he is saying let TRS come to power once again, we will solve your issues,” he added.
