Zaheerabad Should Stay With Congress, TRS May Retain Patancheru, Dubbak

Zaheerabad (SC): Zaheerabad (SC) constituency is in the Sanga Reddy district of Telangana. Zaheerabad(SC) falls under the Zaheerabad Lok Sabha constituency was represented by senior Congress leader J Geeta Reddy in the recently dissolved House. She has also worked as a cabinet minister in the past. In 2014, she won with a narrow majority of 800 odd votes against K. Manik Rao from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Apart from one term this constituency since 1957 has been won by Congress mostly. Thete are 2,27,874 voters in the constituency.

The Congress candidate from Zaheerabad this time is J Geeta Reddy and from the TRS K Manik Rao is again in the running in the upcoming election.

Patancheru: Patancheru constituency was formed in the 2009 elections, prior to which it was under Ramayanpet constituency. In the past Congress won Ramayanpet constituency eight times.T. Anjaiah who won from the constituency went on to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in the year of 1981.

Patancheru falls under the Medak Lok Sabha constituency. In the recently dissolved House this constituency was represented by G Mahipal Reddy from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi with 73,986 votes. On the other hand Sapan Dev from the Telugu Desam party bagged 55,100 votes ending the runner up. Total number of votes in the constituency is 2,73,210.

G Mahipal Reddy of TRS, is hoping for a victory. Congress has fielded Kata Srinivas Goud from their party.

Dubbak: Dubbak constituency was previously called Dommata, and is currently in Siddipet district. Dubbak falls under the Medak Lok Sabha constituency. TDP and Congress have been the major rivals here, winning the constituency for 4, 5 terms respectively. S. Ramalinga Reddy from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi won the seat with 82,231 votes against C Muthyam Reddy of Congress, who bagged 44,504 votes out of 1,87,866 votes.

S. Ramalinga Reddy is in the running from the same constituency seeking a second term, facing off C. Rajkumar from the Congress.
