Hyderabad: The President of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party & Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi expressed his gratitude to the Hyderabad city police for their cooperation in ensuring the Milad procession passes peacefully. Police personnel were deployed and traffic restrictions from eight in the morning to six in the evening were imposed in many parts of the old city . This was to allow the processions to pass peacefully. The centralised Milad procession was taken out by the Sunni United Forum of India from the historic Mecca Masjid and ended at Moghalpura.

Several smaller processions from various localities of the city headed for Charminar, Nampally and other areas of Old City with more than 30,000 people participating in the processions and celebrations.

Elaborate security arrangements were made by the Police , by deploying about 25,000 personnel.

Appreciating their efforts Asaduddin Owaisi took to Twitter to thank them and also expressed his confidence that they would do the same in the coming Telangana elections in December.

Alhamdulilah, the Milad procession in Hyderabad went peacefully & without incident. I appreciate the efforts of @TelanganaDGP @CPHydCity @TelanganaPolice who ensured that Hyderabad’s aman remains intact. I’ve full confidence that we will see free, fair and peaceful elections too.

Meanwhile the AIMIM has intensified its political campaigning in the the seven constituencies of the old city. The AIMIM has a strong base in these areas but might expect a tough fight from the Congress and Majlis Bachao Tehreek with the exception of Goshamahal. This time in the fray is the Indian National Congress, BJP and Majlis Bachao Tehreek, all expressing their keenness to put up a serious and tough fight in the seven constituencies in the Old City of Hyderabad.
