Hyderabad: As the nomination procedure for the Telangana elections is set to begin on Monday, the campaign activity of all major political parties is expected to be intensified across the State. Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) will launch the TRS campaign in his home constituency Gajwel after a meeting with important local leaders on Sunday. On the other side, the Congress party is planning to organize two more tours of party President Rahul Gandhi in the State over the next three weeks.

According to sources, senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi will attend the campaign in Telangana on November 22 and 23. While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to rope in party national president Amit Shah for the campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tour to Telangana is yet to be confirmed. In addition, the communist parties are chalking out plans to arrange public meetings with national level leaders.

Meanwhile, the Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are also planning to organise meetings and road shows with a host of star campaigners and popular figures. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leaders Somnath Bharti, Alka Lamba, Shahnaz Hindustani, Sanjay Singh, Sushil Gupta and Manish Sisodia are among the party's star campaigners, while the BSP's list of leaders include party chief and former UP CM Mayawati, general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra, Rajya Sabha member Veer Singh and party Vice-president Ramji Goutam.

The list of star campaigners have already been submitted to the Election Commission. Both the national parties will contest the December 7 polls irrespective of the existing political alliances in the State. Watch this space for more updates on Telangana Assembly elections 2018.
