Kalwakurthy: Speaking at a Public Rally in Kalwakurthy , Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao hit out at the Congress party and cautioned the voters there that if they voted for the Congress it would be as good as writing their own death sentence. He added that even a single vote would be suicidal for the farmers of the Palamuru regions .

The dry region which was arid and suffered from neglect by the previous Congress and TDP governments for the past sixty seven years, is now a lush green one, thanks to the Palamuru Lift irrigation scheme which has helped irrigation over nine lakh acres in the last four years. All this was due to the untiring efforts of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he said.

Both the Congress and TDP had made every effort to stall the progress in works on Palamuru lift scheme on Krishna river and Kaleshwaram project on Godavari river. Chandrababu Naidu had also tried to stop release of water to the irrigation projects of Telangana, especially the Palamuru-Rangareddy project which was meant to improve agriculture in Mahabubnagar . The TRS ensured that the state farmers were provided round-the-clock power supply and also Rs. 10,000 per acre as assistance because of which farmer suicides ended stopped here.

Apart from offering the Palamuru lift irrigation scheme for the development of the region , Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has also promised employment opportunities for the youth in Kalwakurthy and also an unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month till they get jobs. Many of them who left town in search of livelihoods are returning to Palamuru he said.
