Sangareddy: BJP district president Kasala Butchi Reddy resigned form the party membership. He seems to have lost hope on the party following BJP’s decision to give the local party ticket to  Rajeshwar Rao Deshpande, who switched  over to the BJP from the TRS recently. In an emotional meeting with the media, Butchi said, I would take up agriculture as my profession.

Butchi Reddy started his career with the Sangh Parivar almost 28 years ago and worked as the BJP president of erstwhile Medak district for 5 years and 9 months.  He apologized to party cadres and his followers in Medak. He said: “I am forced to quit the party as the leadership favours only those with money. I haven't earned a penny from politics. In fact, I have borrowed money from banks to meet my expenses.”

“I used to believe that BJP would support loyal workers of the party as it did with Narendra Modi, a chai wala, who went on to become Prime Minister, but they dashed my hopes,” he said. He later pleaded with the senior leader G Kishan Reddy BJP and president Dr K Laxman to give more importance to party workers.

Later talking to the media, he said “I am deeply disappointed at the party’s decision to give the seat to Rajeshwar Rao Deshpande. It will now further strengthen the rumours that I  have accepted money to allow others to contest from Sangareddy.
