Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was responsible for the closure of several private educational institutions in the State. Speaking at a press conference here today, he said that the private educational institutions also took part in the Telangana agitation and that they had a part in the TRS's formation of government and KCR's election as CM. But, after the formation of TRS government, the private institutions were completely ignored, he added.

Uttam felt that the small-sized institutions should have been saved from the corporate institutions. Rather than standing by the private institutions, KCR humiliated them by closing them down. Without any kind of evidence, KCR made allegations of running the educational institutions in poultry farms, he remarked.

The Congress Chief promised that the private educational institutions would be taken care of in the Congress government. "Every year, there wil be a review on providing 100 per cent fees reimbursement to all the beneficiaries. The teaching and non-teaching faculties of all government recognized institutions would be provided with housing and accidental insurance cover. The electricity charges of the private institutes would be converted into domestic charges," he announced.

The TRS leaders are behaving as if they are spending their own money on public welfare, he commented. Promising a complete turnaround in the face of the State's educational sector, he said the local universities would be boosted by the government in the direction of turning them into world-class universities. After forming the government, we will power up the government schools by recruiting 20,000 teachers through a mega DSC in 100 days, he added.
