TRS heavyweights hoping to find a place in second list

Hyderabad: There some important leaders names which have not found a mention in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) list of 105 candidates for the upcoming assembly polls. Among them are heavyweights like the caretaker home minister, Nayani Narsimha Reddy, former minister and recent entrant into the TRS, Danam Nagender and the Malkajgiri MLA in the dissolved assembly, Chintala Kanaka Reddy.

Nayani Narsimha Reddy, it has been widely reported, is keen on the Musheerabad assembly ticket either himself, or his son-in-law and corporator, Srnivasa Reddy. He is known to have conveyed this to the party leadership. On the other hand, local TRS leader, Mutha Gopal seems to be confident about getting the Musheerabad ticket.

Malkajgiri assembly constituency is emerging as a major bone of contention between party heavyweight and MLC, Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao and the MLA in the dissolved house, Chintala Kanaka Reddy. Mynampalli has already begun campaigning, confident of his candidature, it has been said. As a result, the TRS workers in the constituency are reportedly split into two camps.

Khairatabad is yet another assembly constituency in which it is unclear as to who will make the final cut. Former minister Danam Nagender had earlier reconciled himself to contesting from the Gosha Mahal constituency it is learnt, but had a change of heart later. The buzz is that he is now keen to contest from Khairatabad. He took active part in Dussehra and Bathukumma celebrations in the assembly constituency and conveyed the impression that he will be the final candidate from Khairatabad. Meanwhile, corporator Vijaya Reddy is making active efforts to secure the ticket, but it needs to be seen as to who will finally make it.
