Karimnagar: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president and former Lok Sabha member Ponnam Prabhakar called on the people of the district to reject the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the upcoming elections for dividing the united Karimnagar district into seven parts. Speaking at a press conference here today, he said that while a party was trying to win the election by spending huge money, the other party was using religious sentiments, taking a jibe at the opposition parties.

Ponnam urged the locals to protect democracy by electing Congress to power in the Assembly elections. Along with leaders of the stature of Deputy Chief Minister from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), several retired IAS officers are also planning to join the Congress, he announced.

Adding that the Congress fulfilled all the election promises in the past, he remarked that the TRS government failed to deliver on a single promise. After due discussions with the local people and intellectuals, we will formulate a local manifesto, he mentioned.

"The TRS leaders are of the opinion that they would not be able to serve the people under the leadership of an autocrat. In the upcoming elections, it is for sure that a change of government would be seen. On the day of election, which happens to be an Amavaasya, KCR will be in for a defeat," he added.
