Hyderabad: Income tax and Enforcement Directorate raids on the houses of Congress leader Revanth Reddy, his relatives and associates, was again a political colour by leaders of the Congress. Senior Congress leader D.K. Aruna criticised the TRS leadership alleging that it was trying to muzzle the voices of vocal oppsition leaders by implicating them in cases. She said that the latest case of Revanth Reddy right after the arrest of former Sanga Reddy legislator Jagga Reddy was a pointer to this, she said.

D.K. Aruna alleged that the TRS government was setting a new precedent by targetting opposition leaders in this fashion through vendetta politics. The TRS leadership was out to eliminate the opposition, she said. The TRS leaders want officials to be subservient to them, she alleged. D.K. Aruna questioned what the fate of the TRS leaders would be when the Congress returns to power and adopted similar policies.

The Congress leader also asked officials, including police officers, not to toe the ruling party line and to be impartial. She reminded media persons that the Congress party had given total freedom to the officials during its time.

D.K. Aruna said that the ruling TRS was working against the interests of the people of Telangana.
