Police Behaving Like KCR’s Agents: Congress

Hyderabad: Chief official spokesperson of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Dr Dasoju Sravan today said that the State police were acting like personal agents of caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Speaking to media here today, he said that the police department was focusing on KCR's security rather than protecting the spirit of the Constitution. He added that the intelligence department was involved in carrying out surveys for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Sravan said that the police were busy filing illegal cases against the Congress leaders ahead of the Assembly polls. "With the way the police are behaving, it does not appear that the elections would be conducted in a free and fair environment. The Election Commission should immediately take the police department under its control," he demanded.

The Congress leader further said that the TRS leaders were trying to scare the party cadre by seeking IT raids on powerful leaders like working president Revanth Reddy. The TRS and the BJP together have planned to jail Revanth Reddy before the elections, he added.
