Congress TDP Alliance in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), an ideologically anti-congress party, has once again opted to involve in oppurtunistic politics. Calling for the defeat of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in Telangana, the party has all but joined hands with its arch-rival, the Congress party. With an aim to oust the caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) led TRS, the Opposition parties have pledged for working together in the upcoming elections. After a meeting with the leaders of various parties at the Park Hyatt here today, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced that a grand alliance with the Congress, TDP and CPI would be formed with a goal to fight for KCR's defeat.

Uttam said that the grand alliance would also include the civil society organizations and the student organizations. We will place before the public, a united manifesto of the three parties, he added.

CPI leader Chada Venkat Reddy said that it was high time that the dictatorship of KCR ended. Speaking on the occasion, TDP Telangana unit Chief L Ramana said that the TRS party decided to dissolve the Assembly without even making consultations with the Opposition parties. Adding that the TRS government was running in an undemocratic fashion, he announced that the grand alliance would convene a huge public meeting.

The so-called grand alliance exposes the opportunistic face of Chandrababu Naidu in trying to cling to power or gain advantage.
